A group from The EPOS Bureau, in Irvinestown, successfully completed a challenging climb of Cuilcagh mountain in Fermanagh all in aid of local charity, Diabetes UK Northern Ireland.

Inspiration came from a member of the team who has type 1 diabetes and joined forces with nine of his colleagues to raise money and awareness of diabetes.

Diabetes is a condition where there is too much glucose in the blood because the body cannot use it properly. If not managed well, both type 1 and type 2 diabetes can lead to devastating complications including sight loss, amputation, kidney failure and stroke.

With the right treatment, knowledge and support, people living with diabetes can lead a long, full and healthy life.

Diabetes UK Northern Ireland Fundraising Manager, Naomi Breen, said, "We would like to thank The EPOS Bureau for all their fundraising efforts and for choosing Diabetes UK NI as their charity of the year. This was not an easy challenge, so well done to the team for taking it on to show their support for their friend and the local diabetes community."

If you would like your employer or employees to get involved then email fundraising@diabetes.org.uk to find out the many opportunities available to help people living with diabetes in Northern Ireland.
