We need your feedback on new guidelines that set out how people with lived experience should be involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of diabetes services in the Northern region.

They have been co-produced with diabetes service users, people at risk, healthcare professionals and NHS decision makers.

The consultation is open from 24 April 2019 for approximately one month.

Andrew Clayton, 36, will be taking in part in the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 28 April, raising funds for Diabetes UK.

Andrew, a dedicated service director at the Bank of America, was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in June 2014, after experiencing symptoms such as tiredness, fatigue and frequent urinating.

A student from Mytholmroyd will be tackling the Simply Health Great North Run on Sunday 9th September for Diabetes UK in memory of his mum.

Will Evans, 19, is taking on his first half marathon after losing his mum, Sharon, in October 2017. She lived with Type 1 diabetes for 50 years after being diagnosed when she was 9 and passed away as a result of diabetes-related lung disease.

Becky Hughes, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes aged 12, is taking on the St Helens 10K after being inspired to get running by her grandad.

The 24-year-old marketing assistant, who also has a blog which she has used to throw light on some of the myths around the condition, completed the run on Sunday 4 March.
