PhD student networking day

The PhD Student Networking Day is an exciting opportunity that aims to provide students with an opportunity to network and talk openly about their research, and non-research related topics, provide encouragement and advice, as well as to explore challenges and concerns in the diabetes research landscape.

All Diabetes UK-funded PhD students are invited to attend an annual student networking day as part of their studentship.

The programme has been running for 16 years, helping our early career researchers to expand their knowledge, network with like-minded people and gain new skills.

What’s involved?

  • A one-day in-person event, typically in March
  • Second-year PhD students present poster presentations

  • Third-year PhD students present oral presentations

  • Talks from guest speakers, including tips on career options, science communication, Patient and Public Involvement and getting your research published.
