Researchers at Durham University Business School are seeking healthcare professionals with experience supporting
women diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus to take part in a research study.
This study explores healthcare professionals’ perspectives on how emotional support is provided after a gestational diabetes diagnosis, how information and behaviour change guidance are prioritised, and what helps women move from diagnosis to confident engagement during pregnancy and postpartum. It also considers how support can extend beyond birth to address longer term type 2 diabetes risk.
Taking part involves a single 30 minute remote interview via Microsoft Teams or telephone. No patient data or clinical
procedures are involved. Findings will inform the development of an evidence based, emotionally supportive digital companion designed to complement existing care.
