Help Shape Support for Emotional Wellbeing in Diabetes

Are you living with type 2 diabetes? Your experiences matter — and we’d love to hear from you.

Researchers at Queen Mary University of London and the University of Bath are inviting adults (18+) to take part in the DWELL study — a project focused on improving emotional wellbeing for people living with diabetes.

Living with diabetes can be tough — not just physically, but emotionally too. Feelings like stress, frustration, or burnout are common, and we want to understand them better. Together, we’ll co-design a digital health tool that truly reflects what people need to feel supported.

We’re especially keen to hear from:

•    People from ethnic minority communities
•    People who may feel excluded from digital tools — whether due to language, access, or confidence
•    Anyone who’s felt overwhelmed, isolated, or emotionally affected by their diabetes

If this sounds like something you’d like to contribute to, there are two ways you might take part:
•    A one-off interview (online, by phone, or in person) — lasting around 45–60 minutes
•    A series of four in-person workshops — held at Queen Mary University of London or the University of Bath (each lasting one day)

You’re welcome to express interest in either or both activities — whatever suits you best.

Your insights could help shape a tool that makes a real difference for others living with diabetes. We’re committed to listening, learning, and designing something that truly reflects your needs.
