Living with Loss: An exploration of the Psychological Impact of Auto-Amputation using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA).

Researchers at Bangor University would like to recruit people:

  • aged 18 or over;
  • who can speak fluent English;
  • who have experienced loss of their toes or fingers because they naturally fell off at least six months ago (this is called 'auto-amputation') OR;
  • who are experiencing loss of toes or fingers currently

to take part in a study aiming to better understand people's experiences of auto-amputation.

The researchers want to find out how auto-amputation affects people’s day-to-day lives, their emotions, mental health and social life. At the moment very little is known about these areas - sharing your story could improve support for others in the future!

Taking part involves a 60-90 minute online interview to talk about your experiences.
