Researchers at Queen Mary University London are inviting adults aged 40 years and over from South Asian (including Bangladeshi), Black African and Black Caribbean communities in the UK who are living with type 2 diabetes to take part in a research study. The study aims to understand the lived experiences of how people experience and manage type 2 diabetes in everyday life, and how diabetes management is influenced by culture, family, faith, community and experiences of healthcare. The study will also explore how community and faith leaders can help support culturally appropriate and trusted diabetes care.
Taking part involves a 45–60-minute confidential audio recorded interview where you can share your experiences, views and suggestions about living with and managing type 2 diabetes. We are particularly interested in understanding what could help diabetes services better reflect the needs of different communities. Your experiences could help inform more culturally responsive and equitable diabetes support.
