Are you a midlife female living with diabetes? Have you reached that stage of life when you could be peri or menopausal? We would like to learn from your experience.
Most women don’t know this, but there’s very little research into how menopause affects diabetes - and almost none on how diabetes affects menopause.
Perimenopause is the years before menopause, and they’re no picnic!
For those living with diabetes, this isn’t even the hardest part. No one talks about how difficult it is to manage both: there's not enough research and not enough support. Ulster University want to change that. They want to understand how ALL women experience menopause while also exploring the additional challenges for women with diabetes.
They are looking for:
- women aged 35-65;
 - living in the UK;
 - with type 1, type 2, or no diabetes diagnosis;
 - who are experiencing/have experienced menopause or perimenopause symptoms

to complete their online survey. The survey should take you between 10-15 minutes to complete, and your responses will be anonymous.
As a thank you, three £100 Love2Shop vouchers will be given to randomly selected respondents who complete the online questionnaire and provide their contact details.
You can access the survey here. For more information, please email Dr Rachel Black at r.black3@ulster.ac.uk.
This study is funded by Diabetes UK.
