The Lived Experience of Partners of Adults with Type 1 Diabetes: An Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis.

Researchers at the University of Law would like to recruit adults:

  • aged 18 or over who speak English fluently;
  • who have been in a romantic relationship with a partner for at least one year;
  • who have lived with a partner for at least one year;
  • whose partner has had type 1 diabetes for at least one year

to take part in a research study exploring the real-life experiences of partners.

The study aims to understand the emotional, relational and practical aspects of supporting someone with type 1 diabetes, including partners’ challenges, strengths and support needs.

Taking part involves a confidential one-to-one online interview via Microsoft Teams, lasting approximately 45-60 minutes. Participants will be invited to share their experiences in their own words. Interviews will be audio-recorded for research purposes only. All information will be kept confidential and anonymised.
