Our Midlands and East teams successfully delivered the 8th UK Diabetes in Pregnancy Conference on 21 November at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol, with a massive 470 delegates in attendance.
This coupled with exhibitors, speakers and staff amounted to a total of 500 attendees, making this the largest single specialist diabetes in pregnancy conference in Europe.
Last year, delegates from the conference supported over 13,000 diabetes related pregnancies, and with the increased number of attendees this year, we envisage this to increase over the upcoming year. Feedback has been excellent, and many have said it was the best pregnancy conference they had attended to date.
On the day before, we also supported the Type 1 CGM in pregnancy launch, which involved educating healthcare professionals in preparation for when this becomes available on the NHS next April.
