National Diabetes Insulin Pump Survey

4 June 2018

The National Diabetes Audit have created a survey for secondary care/specialist service providers that may have patients using insulin pumps. This Type 1 diabetes and insulin pump survey includes a range of questions related to Type 1 diabetes care in your service. The findings will help to identify where services are performing well and any areas for improvement.

The results of the survey will be published in early 2019.

The survey is open until 29 June 2018.

Why should you participate?

  • Benchmarking against one’s peers is a powerful way of determining whether services are delivering effective care. The specialist care component of the Core NDA provides reliable feedback for both Type 1 services overall and pump services specifically as well as linking to the Transition, Pregnancy (NPiD) and Foot-care (NDFA) modules of the NDA.
  • The NDA allows you to identify gaps or shortfalls that are priorities for improvement and identify and share best practice with the aim of improving patient care.
  • The NDA is now carried out under a ‘Direction’ from NHS England to NHS Digital. The expectation is that all Trusts will participate, and your management can have no excuse for not supporting you.
  • The NDA is a named audit on the Quality Accounts

If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Gary Jevon (Clinical Audit Manager) or Julian Coman (Audit Coordinator) by e-mailing diabetes@nhs.net or calling 0300 303 5678. Lines are open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
