In September Diabetes UK were thrilled to break the 10,000 threshold for the number of people inspired to take action because of an information prescription. Amy Rylance, Head of Healthcare Professional Engagement, explains: “when we originally designed the information prescriptions with people with diabetes and clinicians they were very clear that the information prescription was just the start of the journey. We needed to have further information and resources that people could easily access to support them to change their behaviour and take control of their health. We placed a unique URL on the information prescription which would allow people to navigate straight to help and support. Just 9 months after first launching we are excited that over 10,000 people have typed in the URL as this tells us that not only are clinicians using the information prescriptions, but that patients are genuinely inspired to take action. Patients have used the web portal to access information on healthy diets, getting active and learning more about diabetes."  View the patient portal.
