About the DLCÂ
The Diabetes Leadership Community (DLC) connects people from all across the system to provide the knowledge, support and inspiration required to make change happen. The DLC enables this by creating a space where members can:Â
- Collaborate with other passionate individuals across the health system
- Share insights for improvement and good practice
- Take ideas and work on how to integrate ideas and good practice into their own unique contexts
- Get support to develop more effective and energised teams
- Develop the system leadership skills needed to drive improvement.Â
The community strives to create the conditions in which ideas can grow, flourish and spread beyond their initial boundaries for the benefit of people living with and at risk of diabetes.Â
Â
Community ContractÂ
What the community expects of membersÂ
Members get more from a community they engage in and to enable everyone's full participation, we ask that you embrace the following values:
- Be willing and open to sharing ideas, knowledge, experience and feedback
- Prioritise the needs of people living with diabetes, especially those who are most disadvantaged
- Invite diverse perspectives and listen actively. Challenge and debate are encouraged as long as this is done respectfully and participants enter with a willingness to see things differently
- Share learning outside of the community in the spirit of generosity so that together we can achieve spread and scale for the best ideas and practiceÂ
- Commit to your own learning and development by trying new things and being open to new ways of working.Â
- In the service of fellow community members, be present and engaged when committing to a session or activity. Â
