Aims
To enable professionals to enhance skills and confidence in supporting and encouraging young adults with diabetes. For paediatric and/or adult diabetes teams to focus on developing their services for young adults with diabetes, including transition clinics and encouraging attendance, engagement and participation.

Arranged locally by workshop commissioners.

One day.
Cost to student
£2,500 + VAT. Includes planning, preparation and delivery and facilitator expenses. Workshop for up to 24 participants from paediatric and/or adult diabetes specialist teams. Teams can be from a single service, or a mixture from different services in a locality, region or network.
Type of study
Face-to-face workshop with supporting resources provided, including a workshop website and a complimentary copy per team of the handbooks ‘Group Education Facilitation Skills in Healthcare Settings’ and ‘Providing Structured Diabetes Education for Children and Young People'.
Entry criteria
Health professionals and other staff involved in organising and providing services for young adults with diabetes.

How achievement is assessed
Evaluation on the day of the workshop -Â processes and learning outcomes. Success in achieving personal action plans created as part of the workshop.
