Northern Ireland

Diabetes Awareness Presentation

When? Tuesday 9th December
What time? 2:00 pm to 3:00pm
Where? Belleek Hub, Belleek, Enniskillen BT93 3FZ
What to expect: Our information sessions provide a straightforward, engaging introduction to diabetes. We cover the key facts about Type 1 and Type 2, the signs and symptoms to look out for, how to reduce your risk, and where to find support. The session is designed to raise awareness, bust common myths, and give people the confidence to take the next step in looking after their health or supporting someone they care about.

Together Type 1 Northern Ireland End of Year Party

When? Friday 5th December
What time? 6pm to 8pm
Where? First Floor, Suite 1, Lisburn Square House, 10 Haslems Lane, Lisburn, BT28 1TW
What to expect: Join our End of Year Party! There will be Lego building, bracelet making, gingerbread decorating, games and more!  Pizza will also be provided.

Adult Type 1 Peer Support Sessions

When? Tuesday 9th December
What time? 7:30pm to 8:30pm  
Where? Online via Zoom 
What to expect: Join our next Online Peer Support session for adults living with type 1 diabetes this November. This support group is very informal and full of chat - all you need to bring is yourself and a cuppa. If you're aged 18+, living with type 1 diabetes and have access to Zoom, we'd love for you to join us!

Live Well Hubs

When, where, what time, and what to expect?  

Our Northern Ireland team offers diabetes support and information to local communities through their Live Well Hubs.

The National Lottery Funded project has helped the team launch Hubs in Bangor, Ballymena, Belfast (Houben Centre), Belfast (LORAG), Lisburn, Mid Ulster and Newry.

  • Ballymena, Wednesday 3rd December - 10-11am - Mid and East Antrim Council, warm and well scheme
  • Belfast, Houben Centre, Thursday 4th December – 10-11am – PARS – (physical activity referral scheme) information from the PARS team and the referral process, some light chair based activities.
  • Belfast, LORAG, Friday 5th December – 11am-12pm – Peer support session
  • Lisburn, Tuesday 9th  December - 10-11am – peer support session
  • Newry, Wednesday 10th December -  10-11am –  Yellow card scheme information session
  • Bangor, Tuesday 16th  December, 10-11am – Peer support session.
  • Mid Ulster, Thursday 18th December, 10-11am – Peer support session.

Scotland

Online Christmas Quizzes

When? Wednesday 10th December
What time?: 6 - 6:45pm (11-15yrs) and 7 – 7:45pm (16+)
Where?: Online
What to expect?: Wear your best festive jumper and meet other young people with type 1 from across the UK!

Diabetes Wales End of Year Event

When? Saturday 20th December
What time? 11AM
Where? Blancos Hotel and Restaurant, SA12 6NT
What to expect? This event is for ages 15-25. 11AM - wellbeing session with Layla. 12PM - food at Blancos provided by TT1 1PM - pottery. 2PM - quiz. Christmas outfits optional
