Online Peer Support: Diabetes Retinopathy
When? Tuesday 11th August 2026
What time? 7:30pm to 8:30pm
Where? Online via Zoom
What to expect: Join our Online Peer Support session discussing diabetes retinopathy. This session will be hosted by the diabetes retinopathy team and will discuss: Why eye screening matters, what treatments are available and what you can do.

Live Well Hubs
When, where, what time, and what to expect?
Our Northern Ireland team offers diabetes support and information to local communities through their Live Well Hubs.
The National Lottery Funded project has helped the team launch Hubs in Bangor, Ballymena, Belfast (Houben Centre), Belfast (LORAG), Lisburn, Mid Ulster and Newry.

Eisteddfod Festival
When? Monday 3rd August 2026

Where? Llantwd (Llandudoch), North Pembrokeshire, Y Garreg Las, SA43 3NU
Who can attend? This is open to the public, so anyone can attend.
What to expect? Together Type 1 and Diabetes Cymru will be present at the Eisteddfod, where they will be walking around, engaging with the community, talking about diabetes, healthy eating, the Together Type 1 programme, and how others aged 11-25 with Type 1 can get involved.

National Play Day at Rodney Parade

Together Type 1: Hywel Dda Sponsored Walk

What to expect? Together Type 1 is taking part alongside the Paediatric Team at Hywel Dda for their sponsored summer woodland walk. Connect, share experiences and build friendships with people who understand and can relate to diabetes.

Together Type 1: Chat and Walk

What to expect? Join us for a relaxed Together Type 1 Chat & Walk! We’ll meet at Sand Rabbit in Aberavon and head off together for a walk to Memos Coffee Stand. After our coffee break, we’ll make our way back to Sand Rabbit, where we can enjoy some tasty food.

What to expect? We’re excited to be attending Wonderfest alongside Together Type 1, where we’ll be bringing our stall and sharing more about the programme with visitors. Wonderfest is a fantastic opportunity to connect with people, share experiences, and raise awareness around the support and opportunities available through Together Type 1.

Together Type 1: Transition to Year 7

Where? Jump Adventure, Unit 4, Port Road, Pillgwenlly, NP20 2NS
Who can attend? This is a closed event for 10-11 year olds from Aneurin Bevan.
What to expect? Transition to Year 7 with Aneurin Bevan. Providing meaningful education and fostering confidence in young people transitioning from primary education to secondary school. After the education session, there will be an afternoon of bouncing at Jump Adventure Park.
