Northern Ireland

Live Well Information Session

When? Thursday 10th September 2026 
What time? 10am-12pm   
Where? Pomeroy Forest Building, 56 Tandragee Rd, Pomeroy, Dungannon, BT70 3DS
Who can attend? Adults living with or at risk of diabetes.
What to expect: You will have the opportunity to learn more about diabetes, practical support on managing your condition and find out how small changes can make a big difference to your health and wellbeing.
Do I need to book? Register via QR code or email communityteamni.org.uk for more information.
How much does it cost to attend? It's free to attend.

Together Type 1: Portrush Wellbeing Day

When? Saturday 19th September 2026 
What time? 10am-3:30pm   
Where? Ballysally Youth & Community Centre, Ballysally Rd, Coleraine BT52 2QA
Who can attend? Young people aged 11-18 living with type 1 diabetes and their parents/carers.
What to expect: Action Mental Health and AWARE will run the session, with support from young people living with type 1 diabetes, and it will provide techniques to support your wellbeing while living with type 1 diabetes. There will also be a wellbeing session for parents/carers.

Live Well Hubs

When, where, what time, and what to expect?  

Our Northern Ireland team offers diabetes support and information to local communities through their Live Well Hubs.

The National Lottery Funded project has helped the team launch Hubs in Bangor, Ballymena, Belfast (Houben Centre), Belfast (LORAG), Lisburn, Mid Ulster, Newry and Portadown.

Living Well Event

Together Type 1: Meet up at Edinburgh Zoo

Who can attend? This event is for young people living with type 1 diabetes.
What to expect: Meet other young people living with Type 1 whilst having fun along the way.

Flintshire Diabetes Group Lifestyle and Diabetes Event

What to expect? The Flintshire Diabetes Group is hosting an event where Chris Jones, a personal trainer with type 1, will be delivering a talk on lifestyle and diabetes.

An Evening of Music in Aid of Diabetes UK Cymru

What to expect: Presto Mixed Choir is hosting a special charity concert, with an evening of music in aid of Diabetes UK.

Together Type 1: Arts and Crafts Day

What to expect: Together Type 1 is hosting an arts and crafts day where young people can paint ceramics, enjoy food, and share their ideas to help shape next year's Together Type 1 events.
