MHRA issues warning about TRUEyou blood glucose test strips


The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has issued a medical safety advice alert forTRUEyou blood glucose test strips.  The MHRA has advised that certain lots of strips may give false low blood glucose results, which could lead to undetected hyperglycaemia.A list of the affected strips can be found on the MHRAsafety alert page. The MHRA has recommended that anyone using an affected batch discontinue use as soon as possible. Affected test strips should be returned to the manufacturer for replacement test strips. If you have test strips from the affected batches, speak with your pharmacist or diabetes team about replaing them and providing you with new test strips. Blood glucose testing is an important part of diabetes management so if people have any concerns about their blood glucose readings they should consult with their diabetes healthcare team.
