Channel 4's Dispatches on Monday 31 October at 8pm will be investigating the Childhood Obesity Plan issued by the UK Government.
The Childhood Obesity Plan was released in late August but fell short of the expectations of many campaigners and health charities pushing for the Government to help tackle childhood obesity and essentially, Type 2 diabetes.
Our policy and clinical experts advised the research team working on this episode of Dispatches about the need for a series of measures to be in place to tackle childhood obesity beyond the proposed tax on sugary drinks (the Soft Drink Industry Levy).
We're calling for Government to quickly set targets for all food manufacturers to lower the sugar, salt and fat in their food as part of the sugar reduction programme.
