Did you spot the mention of diabetes on Downton Abbey last night during a chat between Dr Clarkson and Mrs Crawley? During a tea presided over by the Duchess of Grantham the couple talked about the discovery of insulin and how it would make a great difference to many lives.
Mrs Crawley, played by actress Penelope Wilton, exclaimed: "Just think, a diagnosis will no longer be a death sentence."
Downton is well known for using historical information to root their drama firmly in the time it is set.
In 1922 the CanadianFrederick Bantingadministered the first insulin injection.
