Diabetes UK has been placed second on the list of best charities to work for in the UK in the Financial Times Best Workplaces Awards 2006.
We were also runners up in the award for Disability Excellence. This commends policies on recruiting and retaining people with disabilities to the organisation. It also recognises our campaigning work into furthering the rights of people with diabetes and ending discrimination.
"I'm really proud that for the second year running we have proved that we are one of the best workplaces in the UK," said Andrea Barber, Head of Human Resources at Diabetes UK.
"We are constantly looking to review and improve our working policies using feedback from our employees. We have worked very hard to ensure that Diabetes UK is a flexible, friendly and fulfilling place to work."
Overall, Diabetes UK was placed 24th on the best places to work list for the UK.
