Walk in the Park for Diabetes Week

Help to kick off Diabetes Week this year by joining us at a Walk in the Park near you - there are 80 walks taking place around the UK.

The Regent's Park walk will launch Diabetes Week on Sunday 11 June at 12 noon.

The annual walks have helped to raise over £900,000 for vital diabetes projects and research. This year we hope to raise over £250,000.

Douglas Smallwood, Chief Executive of Diabetes UK said, "It is really important that we get as many people along to the walks as possible this year."

"It is a super, family day out to support such an important cause. Living a healthy lifestyle is important for good diabetes control and walking is a great way to become more active. I would urge anyone who is available to come and join us."

For the third year running, pharmaceutical company sanofi-aventis UK will be supporting the walks.

Nigel Brooksby, Managing Director of sanofi-aventis UK says, “We are extremely proud to be sponsoring Walk in the Park again this year. This event keeps growing from strength to strength, with more people keen to get involved and join in the fun!"
