Yesterday 200 intrepid Diabetes UK supporters took on the challenge of running the Flora London Marathon.
The gruelling 26-mile course was made even tougher by the unseasonably hot weather, but our runners did a fantastic job and are on course to raise over £200,000.
The Cool Down Party at the QEII Conference Centre in Westminster was very well attended. Massage therapists were busy tending to aching limbs and a buffet was provided for runners and their faithful supporters.
Diabetes UK staff cheered from the sidelines at miles 13, 22 and 25. Chief Executive Douglas Smallwood also attended a pasta party at the Dickens Inn in St Katherine's Dock on Saturday night where the runners fuelled up for the race.
Diabetes UK would like to say a huge 'thank you and congratulations' to all the runners who worked so tirelessly to train and take on this amazing challenge.
