United Co-op doubles fundraising target

United Co-operatives, who have made us their charity of the year, held their annual charity awards ceremony in Manchester’s New Century House earlier this month.

Diabetes UK’s Chief Executive Douglas Smallwood (pictured, with United Co-operatives Chief Executive Peter Marks) spoke at the event, where awards from the Co-operative Foundation were given out. United Co-operatives also presented cheques to last year’s charities of the year and employees were recognised for their fundraising efforts for Diabetes UK so far.

We would like to thank United Co-operatives who announced on the night that they have doubled their fundraising target for us to £300,000. This is an amazing commitment and we are very much looking forward to continuing our work with them.

The Co-operative Foundation is an independent charitable trust set up in 2000 and solely funded by United Co-operatives.
