Save for later

Diabetes UK seeks new board trustees

Three members of Diabetes UK are being sought to become trustees of the charity, and there are just a couple of weeks left in which to apply.

Diabetes UK plays a significant strategic planning role safeguarding Diabetes UK's assets, influencing its thinking and leading it to the delivery of its mission.

We want to appoint up to three people to the Board of Trustees. These trustees will initially sit for three years, subject to ratification by the members at our next Annual General Meeting (AGM) in September 2009.

Board meetings, events and conferences

There are seven board meetings annually, in addition to other events and conferences. The half day meetings are held at Diabetes UK’s London office in Camden.

Applicants should:

  • have a good personal or professional knowledge of diabetes
  • be good decision-makers with excellent judgement and communication skills
  • bring previous experience and general business awareness to board meetings.

Relevant experience and knowledge

Applicants with knowledge of the diabetes research environment and experience of the assessment of research grants from an academic/science background would also be welcome.

We would be particularly interested to hear from applicants who live, or who have a working base, in Scotland and those from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic groups (BAME). However, all members of Diabetes UK are encouraged to apply.
