During Diabetes Week 2011 (Sunday 12 to Saturday 18 June), Diabetes UK aims to improve the lives of people with diabetes by raising awareness of the importance of talking about the condition. At the same time, we hope to raise £200,000 to expand our Careline – a vital service providing information and emotional support to anyone affected by diabetes.
Diabetes UK Careline is the only dedicated diabetes helpline in the UK. The confidential helpline is staffed by trained counsellors who can provide information on living with diabetes as well as the time to talk things through. Not everyone has a specific query, some just call simply to talk about their concerns or how they’re feeling.
