It has recently been announced that the international conference of the European Diabetes Epidemiology Group (EDEG) will be held in Swansea from 12–15 May 2012.
The EDEG is a sub-group of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD). The group aims to enable research on the distribution and causes of diabetes and diabetes-related complications, and examine interventions to prevent diabetes in children and adults.
The EDEG conference has been held annually since 1966 and acts as a forum for the discussion, interchange and dissemination of research findings. It attracts approximately 130–170 worldwide experts in diabetes including medical doctors, public health professionals and academics from America, Europe, Russia, and North Africa. It is a real achievement for Wales that Swansea has been chosen as the host city for 2012.
The deadline for conference abstracts is 14 February 2012, and the latest information about the conference is available atwww.edeg.org.
