A businessman whose father has diabetes is preparing to take on five fitness feats in six weeks in aid of Diabetes UK.
From 12 September, Ray Morgan, 29, from Usk, Monmouthshire, will complete the Cardiff 10k run, the Wales Sportive bike ride, the Wales Half Marathon and the Cardiff Half Marathon. His challenge will then conclude by travelling to Greece to complete the 2,500th anniversary Athens Classic Marathon on Sunday 31 October.
Doing it for Dad
Ray chose to raise money for Diabetes UK as his father, Bryan Morgan, has had Type 1 diabetes for 20 years.
The auto electrician, who runs his own company, said: "With my dad having diabetes, it is a cause that is close to me.
"I’m really looking forward to the marathon in particular. I’m not intimidated by the distance as I have done it before. The actual race starts in the village of Marathon and finishes in the Olympic Stadium in Athens, so I am really looking forward to the experience of being in Greece."
