On Monday 16 September, we're launching a new single contact number for our Careline, Advocacy and Supporter Care services. Our new number is 0345 123 2399*.
We're determined to do even more to care for and connect with every person with or at risk of diabetes who contacts us. The introduction of our new number is part of our commitment to provide even better services for the people who call us.
Why are we introducing the new number?
The new number is cheaper to call than our previous numbers. In fact, calls from landlines and mobiles to our new number will be included in free call packages.
Karen Wrack, Diabetes UK's Customer Care Centre Manager, said, "The launch of the new number coincides with the introduction of a new telephone system which lets us manage the calls we receive more effectively and more quickly. We want to deliver an excellent customer experience that is accessible, responsive and goes the extra mile. This is why we also have plans to extend the opening hours of our services.
"These changes to our phone services have been made possible thanks to funding from our National Charity Partnership with Tesco."
*Calls to 0345 numbers cost no more than calls to geographic (01 and 02) numbers and must be included in inclusive minutes on mobile phones and discount schemes. Calls from landlines are typically charged between 2p and 10p per minute while calls from mobiles typically cost between 10p and 40p per minute. Calls from landlines and mobiles to 0345 numbers are included in free call packages.Calls may be recorded for quality and training purposes.
