A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Virgin London Marathon yesterday on behalf of Diabetes UK.
The hard work and determination of the team of 150 runners is expected to raise an impressive £200,000.
Thank you also to the record number of supporters who came to cheer along our runners. Their enthusiasm was a welcome boost to all participants.
It was great to see so many of our runners at the post-run Cool Down party, where they were treated to food and a well-deserved massage.
"Helping us to make life better"
Paul Amadi, Diabetes UK Director of Fundraising, said, "Events like the Virgin London Marathon ensure that we can continue our important work on behalf of those affected by, or at risk of, diabetes.
"We are very grateful to all our runners for going the distance for us and finishing the marathon. The money they have raised will help us to make life better for the 3.8 million people with diabetes and the 7 million people at high risk of developing the condition."
