A big thank you and huge congratulations to all our volunteers who ran for Diabetes UK in the Great North Run on 20 September. We had the highest number of Diabetes UK runners ever, with more than 1,000 people donning their running shoes to support us in the world’s biggest half marathon of 2009.
We are hoping to have raised a whopping £350,000 which will help us to continue supporting people living with diabetes and fund research which we hope will eventually lead to a cure for the condition.
“This is a fantastic result!" said Ann Rowe, Fundraising Manager for Diabetes UK Northern & Yorkshire.
"We would like to thank everyone who supported Diabetes UK in the Great North Run, and to congratulate them on their hard work and dedication.
“It is because of their great efforts that we are able to continue our important work and make a real difference to the lives of people with diabetes.”
