For those looking for a lower sugar, lower fat sweet treat, this moreish traybake could hold the answer. Can be eaten warm or enjoyed as a cake.

Chef's tips

  • Try using other fruits such as pears, blackberries or raspberries, or dried fruit such as raisins or prunes.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the flour for ground almonds and use gluten-free baking powder.
  • Serve warm with a little creme fraiche. This recipe also works in a 23cm round cake tin.
