Online event will help ensure you put your feet first

Let's Talk About Feet will take place on October 20

Putting your feet first has always been important for people living with diabetes, but we know it’s not always easy – and it’s been even more challenging this year, with appointments affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

But don’t worry. The North of England Diabetes UK team has arranged a free, fun webinar – titled Let’s Talk About Feet – that will be packed full of useful advice.

It will take place on Tuesday, October 20 (8pm-9.30pm) and the emphasis will very much be on care, not scare… with no gory pictures. Following on from our Diabetes and Moving More event in September, there will be a mix of expert foot care advice and lived experiences. There will also be a live ‘how to check your feet’ session.

You’ll hear from:

  • Dr Rajiv Gandhi (Clinical Director & Consultant Physician at Northern General Hospital, Sheffield)
  • Donna Welch (Podiatry Operations Manager and Professional Lead for Hull and East Riding Podiatry)
  • Colette Jones (community podiatrist based in South Tyneside, and a member of the Northern Diabetes Footcare Network)
  • Andy Lavender (Diabetes UK volunteer who will share his foot care experiences)

Register

The session will take place via Zoom and it’s quick and easy to register. It will be aimed at people living with diabetes and will also be useful for health care professionals or anyone caring for someone with diabetes.
