Research Project: Use of digital technologies by people living with Type 2 Diabetes and depression/anxiety

Researchers at the University of Sheffield would like to interview adults in the UK (aged 18 or over) who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and also experience anxiety and/or depression. The study aims to find out how people living with type 2 diabetes and depression/anxiety in the UK use digital technologies to support their health and the management of their conditions. We are also interested in the experiences of people who have not used digital technologies for this.

Taking part in the study will involve an interview with one of the researchers, lasting approximately 30 to 60 minutes. Interviews can be carried out in a variety of ways, including online via a video meeting, telephone, email, or post. Participants will be able to choose whichever method they prefer. It may also be possible to carry out interviews in person in Sheffield.

The researcher will ask about experiences of using any digital technologies to manage type 2 diabetes, depression, or anxiety. The researcher will also ask about any barriers and challenges to using technology.

Every eligible participant will receive a Love2Shop voucher to the value of £25, as compensation for their time.

For more information about the study or to take part, visit this web page or contact Dr Suzanne Duffin (s.duffin@sheffield.ac.uk).
