As a clinical champion, Moulinath wants to expand the pre-gestational care for women with diabetes. This will focus on improving access to family planning services and improving care for women planning pregnancy. He plans to expand the current service to make it more accessible and engaging.
Moulinath has been a Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology since September 2009. He has an extensive training record in this field both in the UK and India. He is passionate about diabetes and pregnancy, insulin pump therapy, cardiovascular disease in diabetes and pre-diabetes focusing on a team-based approach of care.
Moulinath has an interest in research and audit and has contributed to published literature, guideline development and service development in his current and previous posts. He holds an Honorary Lecturer post with Manchester University. He has played a leading role in creating relationships between the local primary care and his specialist care teams.
He is also interested in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Moulinath has contributed to developing and teaching in various courses over the years. In his spare time, he keeps himself occupied with photography, traveling, reading and spending time with his son at the cricket nets.
