GP and Diabetes Clinical Lead, Dundee
As a Clinical Champion, Cameron aims to improve diabetes education for clinical and non-clinical staff in his area. He will work in partnership with colleagues and people living with diabetes to deliver the education in new and engaging ways. Cameron's aim is to empower people living with diabetes in self-managing their condition.
Cameron is passionate about moving away from traditional learning methods. He hopes to champion working in partnership with people living with diabetes to provide a more holistic experience.
Background
Cameron has been a GP for 20 years and is passionate about trying to deliver and improve patient centred care for people living with diabetes. He has had first-hand experience of how diabetes is managed when his mother was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in her late 40s. Cameron is aware of how good holistic care can empower people to cope with and manage their condition and promote wellbeing. As well as being a practicing GP, Cameron also undertakes secondary care diabetes clinics and is Lead Clinician for Tayside Diabetes managed clinical network.
