Lynne O’Neill

Community Diabetes Specialist Nurse, NHS Fife

As one of our Clinical Champions, Lynne wants to provide enhanced education for professionals who work with people living with diabetes. Lynne will be using her passion for education to support the professional development of her colleagues, modernise diabetes care and raise care standards in line with local and national objectives, all to improve the health and outcomes of people living with diabetes.

Background

Lynne is a Community Diabetes Specialist Nurse, having been a qualified nurse since 2001 then working in diabetes in 2006 within the diabetes centre in Aberdeen as an out-patients staff nurse. The support Lynne received, along with the experience and qualifications attained during the 5 years in this role enabled her progression to Community Diabetes Specialist Nurse for NHS Fife in 2011.

Over 10 years of working for NHS Fife, Lynne has experienced many changes but maintained a love for working in the field. Her team is proud to be proactive and supportive of each other and their patients. They have developed a multifaceted approach to manage patients, which was vital during the additional challenges presented by COVID-19.
