Donate to research

Research is our hope for a better future for everyone living with diabetes. But we can’t fund it without you.

In the last 10 years, your donations have allowed us to invest £63 million into 340 world-class diabetes research projects. And we can’t stop now.

We have more research to do and more life-changing breakthroughs to reach.

There are lots of ways you can give and help us get there.

Adopt a project

If you raise £1,000 or more, you can choose to put your gift directly towards a research project of your choice.

You can browse all the projects we’re funding right now up and down the UK, and find out more about the projects that really interest you.

Whether it’s tackling a complication of diabetes, improving diabetes mental health care, or bringing us one step closer to a cure.

If you’d like to give directly to one of our research projects, please contact us by emailing fundraising@diabetes.org.uk or calling 0345 123 2399. You can also send the name of the project you'd like to donate to, your name, address and a cheque made payable to Diabetes UK, by post to our offices

Thank you

We asked some of our scientists, whose work your donations fund, what your support means to them.

“Your support is what allows research to go forward, and that is the only way that we’re going to be able to improve treatments and eventually find a cure. Research is an expensive activity. So, I really value every bake sale and every run that allows us to carry on doing what we are doing.”

Dr Anna Long, University of Bristol

“Research is fundamental, without it we’re lost and people with diabetes will have tougher lives. So, thank you to everyone who gives to Diabetes UK and makes it possible.”

Professor Simon Heller, University of Sheffield
