Helen Dickens

Helen has stepped up to act as the Interim Director of Prevention of Type 2 Diabetes following just over two years in the prevention team.

Helen Dickens

Prior to working at Diabetes UK, Helen was Head of Communications and Development at Toynbee Hall - an anti-poverty charity based in Tower Hamlets - and worked at the Alzheimer’s Society in a range of roles including managing corporate partnerships, delivering public awareness campaigns, launching the first community dementia roadshow and building the organisation’s e-campaigners’ network.

Helen has also acted as a trustee for two charities - Otesha UK, helping young people to take action on environmental and social justice issues; and UN Women NC UK, raising awareness and funds for gender equality as part of UN Women’s global initiatives.
