Home Guide to diabetes Diabetes in schools

Back to school

It’s that time of year again, the holidays have flown by and kids are back at school. Cue early starts, lost jumpers and times tables in the car …

If your child has Type 1 diabetes, we know there’s a bit more to think about than just a uniform that fits and stationery, especially if your child is starting school, changing schools or has different teachers. Or maybe you’re a teacher or school caring for children and young people living with Type 1 diabetes and looking for guidance. That’s why we’re here to help.

This section is packed full of information and support to help ensure all children with Type 1 diabetes get the support and care they deserve at school so that they have the same opportunities at school as other children.
