Baden Powell Primary School in Cardiff has won a Good Diabetes Care in School award for providing great care to children and young people with

The prestigious award recognised the support the school provides to students with the condition, the help it offers to manage their diabetes safely, and the care it takes to include them in all school activities.

Diabetes UK Cymru has won a prestigious award at the inaugural Welsh Charity Awards.

We were delighted to be named as the winner of the ‘Change Makers Award’ at the prestigious ceremony at the National Museum in Cardiff, in recognition of our work to increase awareness of Type 1 diabetes, and support for children living with the condition, across Wales.

We were very pleased to visit Llangynidr Primary School in Powys to say thank you to some fantastic fundraisers.

Pupils from the school took part in this year’s One Million Step Challenge, along with their friends and families.

Their team, The Pounders, raised more than £4,000 in total – making them one of the top fundraising teams in the whole of the UK.
