The walk, on Sunday 21 July, will cover eight miles, following the River Taff past some of the capital’s iconic landmarks.

Epic cycling challenge

Helen and Anwen are both novice cyclists, but that didn’t stop them cycling an epic 88 miles from Borth to Cardigan on Saturday 8 June.

The tough, winding route passed through every surgery area they cover and took over nine hours to complete.

Cllr Ellie Chard, the new mayor of Rhyl, has announced that she will be supporting and raising funds for Diabetes UK Cymru during her year

Cllr Chard was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1980. She quickly became an active supporter of Diabetes UK Cymru, and was the secretary of the local support group for more than 20 years.

Lara-Jayne Hooper is getting ready to hike 100km to support us this summer.

Lara, 27, from Swansea, is taking part in the Jurassic Coast Challenge this June.

Challengers will cover more than 60 miles over two days, walking from Poole to Bridport in Dorset.

Barbara Jones, 46, is getting set to run her first-ever 10K to support us, inspired by her family’s experience of Type 1 diabetes.

Barbara, from Llandudno Junction, is taking on this year’s Simplyhealth Great Manchester Run on Sunday 19 May.
