Roche Diabetes Care has recently announced its decision to discontinue their Accu-Chek FlexLink Plus infusion set across all markets.
Discontinuation only affects the Accu-Chek Combo insulin pump and does not affect Accu-Chek Insight and Accu-Chek Solo pump users or any other Accu-Chek infusion sets.
The company has assured users that there are a range of alternative Accu-Chek infusion sets that are compatible with the Combo pump. This includes the Accu-Chek FlexLink range. Roche have mentioned in their letter to their customers that they have informed all diabetes healthcare professionals of this discontinuation.
What to do if this affects you
If this will affect you, we recommend that you discuss with your doctor or diabetes healthcare professional as to which alternative Accu-Chek infusion set best suits your individual needs, as the insertion method of the alternative infusion sets differ.
The infusion set range can still be ordered for the time being, though the Accu-Chek FlexLink Plus 10/70 Infusion set is no longer available with immediate effect. Still, Roche Diabetes Care has advised that you speak with your specialist at your earliest convenience to determine the best alternatives for you, and to discuss any next steps.
Once you do so, your diabetes healthcare professional will need to contact Roche Diabetes Care to advise them of the alternative infusion set range that you both have agreed for your use – it is important to note that without this information from your healthcare professional, you will not be able to place orders for alternative infusion sets.
