Diabetes UK looks to trustees to play a significant strategic planning role in the running of the charity – safeguarding the organisation’s assets, influencing its thinking and ensuring it remains as successful as possible.
We are looking for up to three people to be co-opted onto the Board of Trustees until the AGM in 2007, with the opportunity at that time to re-apply for co-option or election.
Applicants should have a good personal or professional knowledge of diabetes, be good decision-makers with excellent judgement and communication skills, and be willing to bring previous experience and general business awareness to Board meetings – there will be around seven a year, as well as other meetings and events.
Reflecting the diversity of our membership and wider stakeholders, we would be particularly interested to hear from applicants who:
- live, or who have a working base, in Scotland or Northern Ireland
- are from black and minority ethnic groups.
However, all members of Diabetes UK are encouraged to apply.
The deadline for the receipt of applications is 17 November 2006.
