Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everybody's business and at Diabetes UK we play an active part in keeping children and adults at risk, safe. This includes ensuring we act, prevent harm and promote safety in all aspects of work, and take appropriate steps if we have a worry about a child or adult at risk.

Our Safeguarding procedures for children and adults at risk (PDF, 261KB) explain how we respond to concerns or worries in line with the law and best practice.

Safety and wellbeing is always our priority and there may be occasions when we need to share information about individuals with other agencies in order to keep people safe. This could be:

  • because you have asked us to
  • because there are concerns someone could be at risk of significant harm.
